– Ian Pratt, Xen Project Leader

Xen Community Overview

The open source Xen hypervisor, originally created by the founders of XenSource, is actively developed by a community composed of the world's best systems developers. It is not surprising that with such talent working on Xen, it leads the industry in performance, security and cross platform support.

Xen is set for ubiquitous adoption by major enterprises that see in the Xen developer community a commitment by their key vendors to an industry standard open source hypervisor.

The Xen project leader is Ian Pratt who, in addition to being a founder of XenSource, is a senior faculty member at the University of Cambridge Computer Laboratory. The Xen project relies on commitments from a wide range of vendors including Intel, AMD, Cisco, Dell, Egenera, HP, IBM, Mellanox, NetApp, Novell, Red Hat, Sun, Veritas, Voltaire, and of course, XenSource. This community, together with the support of the OSDL and other open source developers and distributors, is unified in its commitment to making Xen the de-facto industry standard for virtualization.
